In September 1998, ASAP Popstars member JayCee Parker auditioned to become one of the new stars of the then new Viva Entertainment. While the contract only stipulated that the group will perform only in Asia, Viva Entertainment executives felt that the group should be able to perform in the U.S. and overseas, but to do so they would need to approach the group and negotiate. However, JayCee did not want to be part of the group anymore and begged them to reconsider their decision. Although JayCee's contract was still in effect, Viva Entertainment decided to allow her to become a solo artist, citing that releasing JayCee as a solo artist would help expand the brand. The group "Wings" was created without JayCee's consent to replace her, but the group was eventually disbanded. After the Viva Entertainment takeover of EMI Music Philippines, JayCee's new management company disbanded as well. Despite attempts from JayCee and her attorney to pursue a solo career, Viva Entertainment claims that JayCee cannot legally record and release music in the Philippines without the approval of Viva Entertainment.JayCee Parker is the founder and front-woman of Strike It Entertainment, which signed fellow survivor and former Viva Entertainment staree Kathya Santos to a recording deal, as well as a mastercard card deal that is currently underway.
